Phil_K Wrote:Actually Delvpier you might need to move the endpoints into the water, as the planes are positioned back from the endpoint.
Is the runway correct length? maybe that will be the issue also. What was the runway leght in tacloban anyways? I think that is a short runway , it is small airfield is it?

I'm working on some QMB Plus missions for the dlv_Philippines map, and was wondering if anyone has any missions they've created that I could 'borrow' some 'environment' from (ie: have you spent a lot of time making Clark Field come alive??). My own mission creation skills are somewhat limited, almost as much as my time to do them. But I'm a great cut-n-paste guy and would be very grateful for any help. So, if anyone has spent time in FMB adding features to any part of the Philippines map, I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to merge your efforts with mine in a pack of QMB Plus playable missions based on the Philippines map.
QMB Plus allows missions of several types:
- Airbase attack
Armor attack
Bridge attack
Scramble (from ground start)
Strike
... and of course straight air-to-air ("None" in target box)
PM or emails to sandman ((at)) smsp ((dot)) org appreciated.

I tried downloading the Philippines map, but when I load it, it doesn't come up. At first, it says that the map has an error, and when I try again, it just boots me to the desktop. I already tried downloading it twice. Thanks for any help.
Looks like an awesome map

Did you dl from official link ? (see first post)
What is the error message ? Is it in vanilla FMB or in unlocked FMB ? In unlocked FMB, you can't open this map... too heavy
I think the best is to reinstall with official v2.0 file but first delete Mapmods\maps\dlv_Philippines if existing and all reference line to dlv_Philippines in all.ini
If error persists... maybe some low memory issue...

I think that's my problem - the All.ini
Believe it or not, I checked it, and I saw no Philippines references in there at all. Perhaps the download just isn't putting the code into there? If so, if I put something that codes the Philippines map into there, perhaps it might work? And, finally, if so, could someone tell me what to put in?

Officially reference in all.ini has to be :
dlv_Philippines dlv_Philippines/load.ini
If you don't like prefix appearing in menu, you can write :
Philippines dlv_Philippines/load.ini

Alright, I've got the error code.
Section [MAP2D] not found in 'maps/dlu-Philippines/load.ini'
I tried looking in the load.ini, and I found that even though MAP2D was in there, I found that I had no file titled MAP2D! So, what should I do? If somebody can get me a link to MAP2D, I can put it in the MAPMODS/MAPS/Philippines folder, therefore letting the load.ini find it. Can somebody do that? Thanks!

maps/dlu-Philippines/load.ini ???????
my prefix is dlv not dlu and this is underscore not - ...
so name of folder has to be : dlv_Philippines
and the line in all.ini : dlv_Philippines dlv_Philippines/load.ini
BTW MAP2D is only the name for one section in load.ini ... it is not a missing file....

Sorry, my mistake, I meant dlv

Alright, somethings going on here, because I downloaded the Thailand map, and it did the same thing.
What do I need to do?

What can I say ? Basic installation for new maps (without modded objects or added textures) is :
1/ one folder in Mapmods\maps\ (ie Mapmods\maps\dlv_Philippines) with map files...
2/ one reference for this map in all.ini, like
dlv_Philippines dlv_Philippines\load.ini
... it is as simple as that and it works for others so I don't see why it shouldn't for you....

Well, perhaps I'm doing something wrong in the installation.
Let's start from the beggining. At first, I download the map. Then, when it is done, I go to the desktop and I click on the auto install. It installs a bunch of things such as the load.ini and such, and then it tells me I'm done. I go into IL2, load up the FMB, click on the name of the map under Load Map, and it tells me some error code. I check, and it is fine.
Am I installing it differently? Is there more to it than that?
Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, it's just that I'm frustrated with this whole thing. I downloaded the Darwin map, it's fine, it can load, but it won't save missions, even though I can play the Darwin campaigns for both US and IJN sides. And then, with the other maps - they just don't work!
So, again, I'm sorry

Delvpier - I've spotted a few small object placement clashes near the bridge in Manila:
I'm not scouring the map looking for faults (honest!). If you could keep the airfield at Tacloban that would be good as it was the main US base for most of the early Philippines campaign - I'm looking to create a few campaigns from this airfield. Anyway - thanks for all your efforts!
