Not likely as the developer has said he could have released a version of SOW already, but he still has the resourses to release SOW with all the features he's invisioned. The worst case scenario is he runs out of time and monies and releases SOW with less features. Then add the missing features with addons and patches, if the game sells well enough to finance further work.

He may do so via 1C in Russia, but if the distributing partner in the west runs out of money there is little hope for us westerners to see this in our stores.

Worst case scenario there is its distributed by download in the West.

I really don't give a flying carp about the fm/dm of some farmer pushing a wheelbarrow in his field under the dogfight.. I want accurate glight and damge models to our allied aircraft.. instead of the BS fm/dm the P51's. P47'and Corsairs got last time around.. **Yes I know these are not in the Battle of Britain, I mean as the sim expands in the later years of the war when these planes were used.**
If these little details are the things taking so long then they sure as hell better have concentrated on the correct fm/dm of planes first.. everything else is not important.

If they need cash for the game, they won't release early in the year. They'll release it when all the soccer mums are looking for games to buy their kid for christmas. It doesn't matter whether we want it now or whether it is actually ready for release - it's about maximising profits on release.
If they released the game in Q2 2009 as cited by IGN, the game would have been moved from the "new releases" shelf to the abandoned "sports/racing/flying" section with very little exposure to customers who might purchase it because it has a pretty picture on it.
Guys who have been flying IL-2 for all these years belong to the group that don't need advertising to, and will purchase the game regardless of when it is put on the shelves. But Joe Public who has only ever heard about these mystical 'flight simulators' will only be looking at what's in front of him - a pretty box on the 'new releases' shelf.

Yeas.. but i dont think that there're will be soooooooooo many new people that will buy it. that game is meant to be for person, like us, that love to fly the real way.... Others will take, for exemple, the new HAWX or an other arcade game.
But it's just my 2cents

Yes that's a possibility, but there's no way a business would choose specifically not to sell to as many people as it could. It guess it's just how marketing works. I would also like to play SoW:BoB as soon as I possibly could, but that doesn't mean it's the right time to release it.
It's fanboys like us that will buy a product regardless of the date on which it is released.

For anyone new to flying sims, they will need to spend $100 to $300 in flight gear (joystick and etc..) and so these kids will need parents that spend a few $$$ or they will be older and have disposable income,, and then what you said int he quote.. about people that already fly buying it..
