pouring smoke at 110% - Ultimaratio - 12.11.2007

Hi gents!

It is absolutely fantastic what you guys make!
Perhaps we could model the smoke comming out of the engine exhaust at hi rpm !
I read many books and pilot accounts, they always state that they could see when the
enemy was accelerating, because the exhaust was pouring black smoke.
It would add a great deal of immersion for me! If you have time ..look at it

cu and good hunting....

True, possibly a low transparency dark black/brown smoke would really enhance the game play, but would mean a lot of work and files because of the different positions.

depends.. there r already smokes comin from exhaust pipes on most russian planes when havin way too rich mixture in higher alts..

maybe the grey smoke one gets on engine startup might suffice?

it would likely be thinned out by virtue of the planes airspeed

Similiarly if we could lower the contrail altitude...

That would be great snce aircraft do that on start up it would just add to the atmosphere of the game. I've got another Idea, I know it will sound like another do this do that post but anyway.

What about exhaust flare from the engines, so when flying at later afternoon or night the exhaust flare can be seen from the engine exhaust. (apparently luft nightfighters used to track bombers by their exhaust flare)

I've always wanted it on IL2 just because its never been in any flight sim before.

I'm looking out for a way to do the exhaust flare thing. Remapping the position of the AI Nav lights seems the most likely way. May take some time though.

I am looking out for your mod - Yogi_nature - 15.11.2007
