sound mod bug? (P-51) - Chebawookie - 19.11.2007

I'm enjoying the sound mod and though I couldn't get the switcher to work(for me) using the jonesoft GME worked just fine, however I'm not hearing interior engine sounds in any P-51 cockpit is this a known bug or am I the only one who has this? Anyone know how to fix it? It seems to have come about after I installed the alt. Merlin sounds although I changed back it still is all quiet in the cockpit.

At the moment there are many bugs and problems im encountering with the MOD, The Tempest, P39's, P63, and ME 109's are all making the 'farting' noise. Possibly a form of problem of the looping of the sounds?

Chaps i suggest a re-look into the mod and make some fixes!

Cheers

i dont really care for the latest sound mods, as i love the 9.0 version as i think its the best and you can use modded sounds from this sight, you can install the sound mod to a seperate folder, install sound mod 9.0 or whatever that works for you, and the sounds that you do like from the new one, rename the new ones so that they overwrite the current ones if you get me. then the sounds should work inside, but this is not full proof.

I had no time to compare mod sound v 0.9 with the 0.92, just I've upgraded to 0.92 when it went out. Pleas Wolf coud you tell me about why is better for you 0.90 ? just to know what is of both the more near at the Hi-Fi 8)

some people have problems with volume level in version 9.2 im not exactly sure why but if you have problems try version 9.0

- Vpmedia - 20.11.2007

0.90 is better because the samples are smaller (consume less memory) and the sounds are louder imho

I simply kept everything from 0.90 and manually selected the 10 preset files + preload which were new in 0.92 and added the new samples without overwriting any of the old 0.90 samples, then I did a revised filelist (using DOS dir > list.txt command in 'samples' directory)
after this I started Notepad and edited all volumes to 120-130 from 110 in the added prs files.

btw if you give an error report then it would be good to know your pc spec especially RAM and soundcard, operating system (98,2000, XP, Vista)

Im using the 0.8 from SoF. I find the 109 there better but the La's and Paplakovs are not as good as 9.

looks like the guys have summed it up for me there, the newer ones seem to be quieter but any that i do like i just overwrite the old ones and keep the prs files. only one i have taken is the B-17, any others i use individual sound mods, and if it works why change it.
