Gunner all shot up AKA Gore setting - wingflyr - 20.11.2007

Just food for thought. As I recall,wasnt there a bomber Aircraft that when the Gore setting was activated in the config. the gunner would be shotup when hit. It this something we can look into.

This feature is already activated for all aircraft in game, with the sound mode, either fighter or bomber. (Some older planes also feature blood splashes). Confusedhock:
The only thing you have to do is add the line HighGore=1 in your conf.ini
For example, from my conf.ini:

[game]
Arcade=0
HighGore=1
mapPadX=0.5125
mapPadY=-0.033333335
viewSet=37
Intro=0
NoSubTitles=1
NoChatter=0
NoHudLog=0
NoLensFlare=0
iconTypes=0
eventlog=eventlog.lst
eventlogkeep=0
3dgunners=0
TypeClouds=1
ClearCache=0

Hope that helps Smile

Hmmmm nice. Which ones feature the blood splashing? Is it only visable inside, or can you see it from external?

It would be nice if this bit of code lets add oil to outside canopy when engine is hit.

your stu

It is visible from outside only and as I recall the blood feature is applied to all the planes of the original IL2 game.

is it at all possible for this effect to be added to ALL the planes...?

- wingflyr - 22.11.2007

Thats what I was originally thinking, single pilots also.

Oh btw I did fly against some bombers and yes the rear gunner slumped over pretty shot up. I could see the red splatered inside as I flew by really close and paused. I should have snapped a screenie but forgot.

I think that this is the best thing since slice bread/soundmod's, our kiwi editions didnt come with this enabled - and i think i read somewhere it was only originally enabled in EU editions - is that true

Confusedhock: Is that stock?

Indeed it is Smile just tried it out for myself. Ahhh loving the gore Smile

- Vpmedia - 22.11.2007

the HighGore=1 setting includes two things if my observations are correct

A. Blood, but not on all planes (I've found the blood layers while looking for things but need to look for it again because I forgot its location)
B. gunner posture changes, leans over the gun dead, I saw this in Pacific Fighters planes too

- Nocturnum - 22.11.2007

This is surprisingly helpful in some bomber attack missions. For my currwent campaign I'm playing a lot of Hurri Mk1s vs He111s and with the mod and High Gore I can usually spot the dead upper gunner quite easily. I am surprised at how often I kill the pilot too. Of course, the gunners behind glass are still bulletproof it seems but anyway...Previously I assumed the plane was just evading but I've often seen the pilot slump forward, blood all over the cockpit as the plane gains height, circles, flies straight, etc. Really interesting to watch and much more fun.

Ahhh the gore 8)

i did the HighGore=1 and still when i get killed nothinf he sits there like allways
