Mat-Manager... - RAF_Magpie - 20.11.2007
S~ All... has anyone had any problems trying to get Mat-Manager working with the sound mod?
- Bee - 20.11.2007
Works just fine for me. Are you having problems?

Works fine here too. The only problem I had was with adding squadrons to the list, the new squadrons code letters dont seem to work with mat manager.

Have you made entries (bmp and text file) in "PaintSchemes/Regiments" ?

Yes. I wasnt talking about the entries for dogfight servers. Those actually work fine. I'm talking about the mod enabling you to add squadrons in the other modes of play.

I can get it installed, but none of the markings show up - just the standard default markings...

I realised that, even so wouldn't adding the text file with code letters be required. Mat manager has added folders in my Regiments folder.
I've not installed that mod yet. Have you tried adding a text file for a new squad?
Magpie - have you set "ClearCache=0" in conf.ini ?
- Willy - 20.11.2007
If the install went ok, then the next most important thing is to have the following line of text added to your conf.ini file under the heading [game]
ClearCache=0
I guessing you've already done this, as it's pretty high up on the readme that comes with Mat Manager.
If you have and still have a problem it is most likely that you do not have an il2.exe in your main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder. This file was no longer required by IL2 sturmovik for the 1946 edition and therefore did not ship with it. The current version of IL2 Mat Manager was made before "1946" v4.07 but does need the old il2.exe to function.
Easy fix for that is copy your il2fb.exe and rename it il2.exe Then you should be in business.
Failing all that, go to the devlopers FAQ & troubleshooting thread (last post was in 2006) here

hope this helps
Good luck

Working fine for me too, but I also made a full copy of my original Il-2 '46 install, which includes all Mat-Manager files.
- RAF_Magpie - 20.11.2007
Yeah got that in my config.ini, but...
- RAF_Magpie - 20.11.2007
Scratch that... got it working
Uninstalled it and the sound mod, renstalled mat-manager, then installed sound mod again and the bugger finally works
Much nicer - dont know how i put up with the stock markings for Soooo long.

Yeah, "loud" aren't they.
I've not set up MAT manager to work with my modded install yet, but took me 3 attempts to make it work with the 4.08m "official" install. (bit short of space on the drive with the mods right now)

Hmm. I retract what I said earlier. I just checked and it doesnt work with custom regiments in dogfight servers either. Weird, I always thought that it had worked.
