How about a DC-3? - Oilburner - 22.11.2007
I love the big planes and I just thought today how cool it would be to use the b25 pit in a DC3. Paratroopers can be selected as a loadout and you could re-create the normandy invasion from a transport pilots perspective. Anybody know if you add a pit to a glider if it will tow it????? I know you can't fly a plane that is towing a glider (like an he111 towing a me321, etc.. it just disconnects on spawn).

Nice suggestion and it has been suggested before .
We will in the end get them all (I hope).
I'm looking forward to as you suggested the C-47, and the Ju-52, Ar-196, He-111-Z and so on.

You can actually

I'd like to second the request for a pit for the DC-3, Great plane and it opens a whole world of scenarios.
PS: I've never had any problem flying an He-111 with a G-11 or an Me-321 in tow, Either starting on the runway or with an airstart. The only time they drop off is if your in range of their target or if you turn too abruptly.

C-47 would be great!

C-47 is the same thing as the DC-3, Few Minor Differences

I agree, C-47 will be a good addition to the sim, but why not a Russian Li-2 instead?
With the B-25J cockpit only, you're a sitting duck waiting to be shoot down... :?
Li-2 had a turret and two waist gunners, so you can be able to defend yourself.
The new single MG turret could be ok, and also He-111H waist gunners when they will be available.
Cockpit was the same of C-47, as soon as I can find it, I'll post an image of the remains of a Li-2 cockpit taken by me at Great Patriotic War Museum in Kiev, Ukraine, the few writings still readable are in English.

True enough mate, but that was the case for C-47 pilots.
Take the Bomber Mossie, no guns like the C-47
a sitting duck too.
That is why you need good escort pilots, that don't run away just for a kill, but stays to keep your six clear.

How?? I made a coop with a bunch of 111's towing 321's (awesome target practice) but whenever I get into a 111 it doesn't work (these are sitting on runway). Is there any trick to it or is it maybe a weird map or spawnpoint bug?

You're right, but this is a sim, a game, and everybody wants to have fun. 8)
Mosquitos, at least, had high speed...
Yesterday I promised a Li-2 cockpit image and here it is:
Unfortunately, not too many remains... :?
- RAF_Loke - 23.11.2007
You are of course right about the Mossie have it's speed.
But who have said it can't be fun flying an unarmed C-47?!
If you have no escort planes, you are as good as dead, unless you fly full real and have some clouds to hide in.
In the end it's a matter of the game play.
I would any day try and fly in to drop para's and back again. If I succeed I'll be happy. The hide and seek is fun in it's self.
Back to game play. On the big servers you surely needs a good escort, if you don't have that it won't be much fun I agree.
Li-2 and C-47 will both be good and surely a joy to fly 8) .
