New Flyables and Coops - 8FS_Bulau - 30.11.2007
It's apparent that modded and unmodded games can coexist peacefully on dogfight servers (even if the game owners might not), but what about coops? If a coop mission contains a new flyable, does everyone who joins need that mod? Can an unmodded game even connect to a server hosted by a modded game?

You can host any coop with any aircraft. The only thing that the player joining your game must have is the cockpit for that particular plane.
I cant say what happens when you select a plane for which you dont have a cockpit in a coop, because I havent seen anyone dumb enough to do that yet

On that note however, has anyone else noticed...
When I join a co-op, more often then not, there are AI flyable types in there, which can be selected by you, or anyone else with the sound mod - but not those without who cant even see them in the list. BUT this is a problem because 9/10 their actually blocking other selectable aircraft, or it shows those who dont have the mod selecting say, the H8K1, but they've actually selected say, a P-51, but you cant even see the P-51 to select it....

I'll have to say that it's not a good idea to do a CO-OP if everyone isn't using the same version.
Like Magpie said, it really buggers up the plane selection. I've hosted 'mixed' games, using the orig, and having mod players, and using the mod, and having orig players, and it does cause problems.
Also, it seems like we are having quite a few issues with 'mixed' games. Getting odd lockups, and, depending on who is the host, SERIOUS lag issues.
