can one of our illustrious modelers look into making the gunship version of the B-25C and the 8 gun nose of the B25J? OMG that would be so sweet and it would be the best christmas ever!

field mods on the b-25c yes... such as removing the lower turret and adding 4 guns to the nose, 4 to the sides, and painting over the glazing.

The B-25Js were both retrofitted in the field with the 8 gun nose and later shipped from the factory that way.

Yeah, the easiest would be to paint over the glazing on the J and add several MGs and delete the bombsight.

The D would be the same, but axe the lower turret.

Course we'd also need some parafrags for the D. Also, all the B-25s carry too few parafrags, should be 69 cells each with 3 bombs.

That's right, 207 parafrags per bomber.

Guys,

I'm sure these have been skinned some time back - check on Flying Legends - not sure the cannons ever worked though I think it was purely cosmetic.

this is not simply a skinning issue. the request is to actually convert the current b-25c bomber into the more appropriate strafer version for pacific actions. to do this would involve adding machine guns to the nose area and being able to skin over the nose glazing (glass). spud has mentioned that the parafrag loadout is indeed incorrect, but im not sure if that, or even the addition of MGs, can be added at this point.

what is really needed is to be able to paint over the glass nose. that is a mod that needs to be tried.

i dont necessarily think you'd have to add so much. couldn't the modder just add the gun packs from the b-25j to the b25c and paint the nose? i dont know if that is pushing the boundaries or not.
