Ahhhemm! Gentleman Modders - RDDR - 09.12.2007
What do you think about the possibility of
1. Repairing those dumb cannon barrels on the German aircraft?
The gondola barrels are way too fat and out of perspective on both the 109's and FW's.
2. The underwing gas tanks on the P51's defy gravity and are suspended in mid air under the pallet attachments.
3. The German munitions are badly painted, and in some cases painted the wrong colors.
What would it take for us skinners to give these bombs and what not a new face.
If this could be done, it certainly would look a hell of a lot better .

It's pretty straight forward Chris.
1st thing you need is the tool for opening the .sfs extractor, here
http://www.timqwerty.narod.ru/
Once you find the .tga texture file you need, extract it, edit it (some won't open with photoshop or what have you will explain the trick below) then add the file to your files folder including all the correct subfolders, also add the paths to filelist.txt and your good to go
The trick for opening the awkward .tga files is to use the loading screen mod and substiute the background.tga for the file you want to view. Take a sreenie when the game loads...your away.
Look forward to seeing some historical ordinance from you

I think its a good idea, why not every detail be historic.

Any possibility of painting the drop tanks? Like the ones for the Corsair and Hellcat when they are wearing an all dark blue skin?
Or the HVARs? I believe they should be white with an OD warhead.

Great job :!:
I've a question for all of you, more expert and skilled modders...
I've opened .sfs files using sfs extractor, but only a few compressed files have readable names, most of them are only in 16 hex digit, like '64F83BC6574C11DE' etc. How can I find the .tga textures or other files I need?
At now, I wish to modify MC.200 serie 3 canopy textures, to make them look more similar to serie 7 ones.
Could anybody help me :?:
Thanks a lot again :!:
