problem with QMB - sentinel - 09.01.2008
Dear Sirs,
Recently I downloaded and ran the QMBplus mod which worked perfectly. But then I downloaded the program that puts the summer online mod that puts the missions in QMB. Now when I go to the QMB all the additions (eg Strike, scamble and the new maps) have gone. It seems to be following the original path to the old IL-2 QMB. I have tried reloading the QMBPlus and all the adjustments seem to be there (I don't think I missed anything) and I can still access the maps and missions through the FMB. Can you help please.
Best regards,
Sentinel.

The new summer map however is included in the original map list of the QMB.

Can you explain a little better what is the problem now because I don't understand what is the problem. It look to me that you used QMBPlus and than downloaded different mod for QMB that replaced QMBPlus.
Than you tried to enable QMBPlus again. IMO if you installed QMBPlus correctly than you should have everything working as before.

Dear FC,
Sorry for the poor communication but I am at work and I am remembering from memory.
OK, I downloaded and applied QMBPlus and corrected the 'ick' problem in the graphics. I then found the download for the 'online 5 summer' I think it is and applied that. But when I went back to QMB it had lost all the QMBPlus features but the added 'online 5 summer map was in the list of original maps. There were none of the QMBPlus features and none of the new maps. I retraced my steps and found all the extra lines in filelist and the gui files, so they are still there. So I repeated the QMBPlus application but it still does not work and I still have the old QMB interface. Do you think if I applied the sound mod again or the 4.09 mod patch again that it will work??
Best regards,
Sentinel.

Ahh! it just occurred to me that perhaps the second mod did not simply add that map to all the others but has in fact overwritten the QMBPlus somewhere in the programming?? I did not think that it would remove QMBPlus......simply add to it so that I had another map to play with. I would appreciate QMBPlus back again....it allows more realistic events to occur in terms of bouncing and attacking bomer formations from a height advantage.
Thanks again,
Pike.

Same happened to me and a few others. The 'online 5 summer' mod wipes out many of the features of FCs QMB Plus. Just remove it and reinstall QMB Plus - check every step methodically. You can then add the missions provided by the online 5 summer mod manually, by carefully following FC's guide in the QMB Plus ReadMe.

Dear username,
How do I remove it.....It installed automatically I did not place files anywhere myself.
best regards,
Pike.

The Net5Summer QMB Mod and FC's QMBPlus are not "compatible".
If you install one over the other, it nullifies the previous install.
You can have the best of both by reinstalling FC's QMBPlus. You can then add the Net5Summer missions using the instructions for adding new missions that are detailed in the QMBPlus Readme file.

Yes, you don't have to remove the Net5Summer mod, just reinstall QMB Plus as you did before.

Dear FC,
Solved it...........somehow some of the files of the files section of the QMBPlus download had ended up outside the files folder. So when I copied over those files some were missing. Once I realised this it worked. I'm not sure but I did download and install the updated version instead of the earlier one. Anyway it works now.
Thanks again and best regards,
Sentinel.
