Sounds missing - WT_Pedropan - 10.01.2008

Help please !

After installing SM09 all the sounds inside and outside are OK.
However after installing AAA_MOD_PACK, all sounds except the propeller sound are missing, in the cockpit just when revs of the engine exceed 2600rpm, all sounds are gone.
Planes affected:
Avenger
A-20
B-25
F4F
F4U
F6F
P-47
TBF

All other sounds are OK

Any tips please?

Missing entrys in filelist.txt?

- saunders1953 - 11.01.2008

Me too. I just did a fresh install of 1946 up through 4.09beta, then did my first ever install of SM093 and AAA Mod Pack. Same problem as WT_Pendropan. I'll check the filekist.txt, but shouldn't the entries be there?

But btw, these Mods are FABULOUS! Thanks to all the modder geniuses out there who brought these to us techno-challenged bozos!

Just checked....what entries should I be looking for? There are plane entiries for the F4F, for example, but no cockpit ones.

Help would be apppreciated.

Thanks!

Try the new wrapper dll patch it here somewhere. No need for filelist.

- saunders1953 - 11.01.2008

WT_Pedropan,
Did you find an answer for this. I have the exact same list of planes with prop-only sounds, and have messed about and searched in these forums and can't find an answer.

Anyone?

- WT_Pedropan - 12.01.2008

Filelist is O.K., new wrapper.dll too (I install L2D with this file), but sounds not... Cry

- saunders1953 - 13.01.2008

Same here, Pedropan. I figured I might as well try to figure out how the planes are tied to the sounds, but I don't know enough to figure that out. It's my understanding that the filelist--now the wrapper dll--tells the game what files to pull on loading--planes, sound, maps, but don't have the foggiest how the engine sounds are tied to the plane/cockpit. I was going to try to simply swap the .wav file with whatever .wavs these planes were tied to, but I'm clueless.

I know that there are alot of people here that are carrying a Zippo while I'm rubbing two sticks together. Is there anyone here willing to point me in the right direction to fix/modify this myself? I mostly fly the PTO, and all my favorite Allied birds are kaput for in-cockpit engine sounds. Cry Very disappointing, and considering two of us have the exact problem with the exact planeset, others must be having it too.

THX

Well, I haven't flown PTO planes for awhile, but I tried yesterday, and I have the same issue with in-cockpit sounds missing for some planes, basically the same as in the list that WT_Pedropan gave.
Very disconcerting, indeed!
As it's been awhile since I've flown any of these planes, I can't say when exactly this issue might have arisen.
I'm using 0.93 sound mod - new wrapper (still have old files folder in game root, as well)
All other mods are fine, just these missing in-cockpit engine sounds.... Cry
Anybody have any ideas on how to solve this pretty frustrating issue?
:?: :?:

Hmmm - Flying H - 22.04.2008

Are you using headsets? I found those strange things happening long time ago. By chance I found the solution in my creative sound setup, if I had speakers 5.1 I had almost no internal sound. Changed to headphones an all sound was back! It

I'm missing my p47 in cockpit engine sounds

- Lewicide - 24.04.2008

OK found a solution

reloaded AC Installer but loaded it as soundmod .92 ..... it fixed it, p47 sounds back

- THE ESCHATOLOGIST - 09.05.2008

Dear All,
Before anything let me say that I really appreciate and thank all those responsible for bringing out these great mods...

I'm having a bit of trouble with my weapon sounds especially the heavy cannons like the MG151, MK108, & MK103... when i fire the sounds of these weapons don't seem to work...

Please could someone help me out...

Thanks in advance...

Cheers!..

P.S. : This isn't a complaint so please don't get me wrong....

partial solution - Pirate - 10.06.2008

Hey guys, was having the same problem as you (no engine noise on B25, A20, P47 etc..) I've managed to get the sounds back for these - I changed my sound setup (found in either hardware setup or il2setup.exe) to Default sound quality, default speaker, turned off extensions and - sorted. well sort of. The F2F series still no engines and so there are probably others. The only similarity between some of these planes is the engine type Wright radial series... I hope this solves the problem for someone.

Hopefully someone will get this sorted properly Big Grin

Happy Flying

Joe

Re: partial solution - briyeo - 13.07.2008

Same problem as the rest here, all US radial engine sounds missing. Im new to this modding and dont know what Im doing really but following a remark by Lewicide in this thread , I re-installed AC INSTALLER 2.2 and told it I had SFX 06 sound mod although I actually have version 093. All the engine sounds that were missing are restored now. Of course time will tell if anything else as happened as a result of me doing this.
