MC202 how to reduce Reticle - RAF_Cobber - 16.01.2008

what I did:

1. downloaded MACCHI_202_With_Cockpit_IL2_MOD.exe
2. extracted into my...... \ MODS\total mod\......subfolder
3.checked if filelist was updated......YES
4.tested in the game........NONE apparentely changes

where I wrong?

I guessed some changed in the gunsight SIZE....but his RETICLE, good in his SHAPE, is uncorrect as SIZE and it should be reduce within the wind shield glass

anyway other questions :

1.i'm not able to see pitside.tga
2.I saw Mask.mat and pitside.mat ----can you explain their function?
3.inside Mask and pitside I found this string: TextureCoordScale 0.0 0.0 1.0 1.0---> if it changes in 0.0 0.0 0.8 0.8 do we reduce something?



I would like to have an historical RETICLE well dimensioned

in a bf109 we have a good gunsight revi ...with a well dimensioned RETICLE but in this italian fighter we have a BIG BIG S:Giorgio RETICLE , may be done for blinder Pilots

I do confirm in all italian fighter and in particular in MC202-205 the Reticle , its proper shape, is correct .....only its size is not correct: too big
the Reticle should be within gunsight glass reflecting its shape on the windshield.

Can you mod this RETICLE to a little one?

Indeed Mr Cobber, that is how you do it.

I agree with my Italian Comrade here, that they perhaps could be a tad smaller...

Anyone know of any good resources for this?

anyway just to show:



it should be correct to have an Italian RETICLE resized to KI43'reticle and adapt such dimension to all italian fighters

I suppose it should be easy for you guys

an idea could be to use KI43 reticle size and superimpose an Italian reticle to the Jap one to have te same size.....in TGA ....format....anyway you are the BIG BOSS and I'm sure you will solve this trouble

I will try to find an historical picture of such a reticle well dimensioned.

here you may see the right size of the reticle for ALL ITALIAN FOGHTERS




yes it is for a MC200 but in a MC202 and MC205 we have the same gunsight with the same RETICLE

At last, a good illustration.. I've been searching everywhere for a picture of the correct size reticle..lol!

some guys, redfox59 and 150GCT_Veltro helped me

here you have some shots:

consider we have a 10mt wing in a REVI diameter at 100mt distance more or less
in an SG we have the same at 120mt in the Inner circle and in the outer at 56mt more or less then in the three dots at 235mt

look:
I superimposed the SG reticle with the right size at the REVI reticle to test.







I will download the SG reticle right for MC202 and 200 asap

still waiting for a sign from simmers community if they agree or not anyway I have to say
thank you MrJolly and all guys who dedicated their time to improve this fine simulator without introducing any cheat in it .

I hope we can extend such a work to MC200 cockpit
is it possible?

and an other question: is it possible to move in germany and Italian fighter where needed the SQN insigna from the central fuselage to the Nose?
IF YES this will be our new effort to improve such a simulation.
