Adolph Galland's Bf109F2? - Messerschmitt - 18.01.2008
Are there any plans for an Adolph Galland Bf109F2 with 20mm MG FF wing cannons?
- RAF_Magpie - 18.01.2008
Only if its a current "Ace" aircraft, which if it isnt; it wont happen. because it would require a weapon loadout/fm change. Which is not allowed.

Couldn't we change the FM of an Ace-machine?
Who needs the anyway?
- Low_Flyer - 18.01.2008
For everyone that wants a Galland, someone will want a Hartman or a Rudel. There's a lot of change for change's sake about. Did you get linked to improved 109 reticles btw Messerschmitt?
- Messerschmitt - 18.01.2008
Well this a new Bf109 though - we don't have an F2 with wing cannons. The current nose cannon is ineffective compared to the 20mm.
The Axis reticles look no different so maybe I installed them wrong?
- Messerschmitt - 20.01.2008
Change for change sake? No because it would be a NEW version of the Bf109. And the mount of Galland, an ace. Surely that's a worthwhile project?

Not a good idea for the resons above.

Ah yes but anything is possible here right?

Not when it involves FM/WL/DM changes.

Tweeking an existing plane's f/m breaks the rules here yes. But this is a different version of the Bf109 - so why is that a problem?
- GentleKiller - 20.01.2008
why dont you just fly the me109 f4? basically the same thing
- Messerschmitt - 20.01.2008
No it not basically the same thing. The F4 does not have wing cannons.

Look at it this way; At the time of me writing this message, we cannot make new planes with slots of their own (Its being worked on, so its like this till thats sorted). So this means that any new plane, must replace one of the current planes in the list. This would mean, that for this special F2, it must replace one of the other aircraft in the list. Thus, it would mean the editing of a current FM for a new plane. Which, coincedently, is not allowed, for numerous reasons.
This is the same reason why we can't edit the FM for the Typhoon, or edit the FM for the Tiger Moth, or edit the FM for a Lancaster, or the Cant. or what ever...
This is why.

Ok thanks for explaining. So we won't see a Spit 14 either.
- RAF_Magpie - 20.01.2008
Unfortunatly no
It sucks, I want them all
But... its just how its got to be...
