Secondary Explosions - VT-51_Razor - 19.01.2008
Is it possible to modify some of the Objects in the game to give off a secondary explosion after being destroyed? At the very least, would it be possible to modify certain Objects in the game to explode more violently then others when destroyed? There has been some great work with the Objects by La Rohne as far as their DM is concerned. I was just wondering if a graphic enhancement to their destruction couldn't also be added.
An example would be the train car #1, representing it being loaded with ammunition, or #8 being full of fuel. The tramp steamer (dry cargo ship) or the oil tanker ships. I'm sure that there are many many more objects that could represent something that, when destroyed, would explode violently as opposed to destroying a camo tent or jeep.
If it could be done with real explosive effects, so much the better. But if it were only a graphic effect, that would be better than what we have now.

Yeah this would make ground attacks a lot more satisfying. Mybe the aircraft explosion effect can be used.

That's exactly what I had in mind!

Can this not be done? (just a childish little nudge  )

Here's another silly question. Is it possible to change the results, or after effects, of destroying a particular object in the game?
Example: when a tank, or artillery piece is destroyed, it usually burns for a while. Could a particular object be given those attributes, other than armor or artillery? Like a building such as a hanger? If that is possible, then, could the result be changed to a larger fire, or more intense smoke?.....for a longer time?

WOW!! This is great Fabianfred!! Thank you.

...if you look at the static.ini in Notepad....you will see that all the buildings/fences/etc. (objects) in the FMB are there.....
the Panzer is a figure denoting each items relative strength
the Body is an indication of how it reacts when destroyed..... "rock Big" is assigned to a castle wall...so relatively indestructible and probably no reaction when destroyed by a bomb....."Fuel small" is applied to a motorcycle......so i'm guessing it gives a bit of flame and smoke
try messing around to see if you can get more reaction by a house or whatever

Thanks Fabianfred, I'll do that.

have you guys noticed that when an IL2 crashes the explosion shoots debriss with smoke trails?
would'nt be cool if we can get those explosions on some other objects, like fuel tanks on an airbase.
or more spectacular explosions on tanks

That's right, the IL-2 does that.
How about making the fuselage of the aircraft skid a couple of metres further, after a crash of let say, less than 30 degrees?

It would be nice to have some different explosion effects overall. I personally find the default ones too transparent and weird colors- maybe more yellows and black, and less red/pinkish shades

heh thats cool slow... well i guess eventually as the mod community discovers how to tinker with the code those little things are gona start to appear... Oleg him self could not resist give it a try

I have does this, while messing with weapon effects on 4.08 I added livetime to the bomb and it would blow up and blow up over and over... of course after the second time it wouldent kill me of course, but its was fairly easy, try adding livetime, endtime. Make it Negitive too.
It should work for fire effects too.
