How about..... - Bearcat - 24.01.2008
You know how when you are down and you are cycling through the views and you can look around by zooming in and out? Well sometimes depending on the map you can see some pretty neat stuff... I flew a mission tonight and the detail of the map was incredible... Would it be possible to make something that would anchor a static camera where ever you were... Say you crashed in a field... and you were looking around.. and you zoomed waaaay put.. to a nearby base... you are still on the ground.... but once you get on the base by hitting... I dunno... SHIFT+insert... you could transfer the anchor point that would be where you crash landed to wherever you are... am I making sense?

I get what you mean and that would be useful.

He would like to be able to look around, like from a static camera, after a crash.
That indeed would be nice, but why should you crash in the first place?

well "the nuggets guide" is for "getting off the ground", it doesn't appear to go into how you get back down again

Where one crashlands is the pivot point for the view. When you go far from the pivot point (or crash site) the movement becomes less fluid, more on a ratchet. Like BearCat says, when you are far from your pivot and spot something, it would be great to be able to reset the pivot point to the viewpoint of choice
