these are just cloned....not altered apart from their height.... they are new objects in the FMB
I started with the barrel blocks
others are working on reskinning Objects...... any suggestions on which Objects are most useful to have in various heights from the ground..??
Once one set has been made....like the barrel blocks...it is a simple matter to make another set...at a different height
these blocks could be put on a quayside or static ship....vehicles raised to be on a pontoon bridge etc.
only from the Objects menu for now........don't know about stationary objects yet..

Some of the static soldiers that were in the 4.09b patch would be great. Having these re-skinned and available in different heights would be great for having mechanics and crew standing on wings of aircraft. Or even staff on the balcony of control towers.
Being able to reproduce distinctive uniform colours of Luftwaffe and IJ goundcrews etc. would be a very worthwhile addition :wink:

I know they're not simple objects but AA guns could really use this clone & elevation technique so that they would fit on top of some of the bunkers

fabianfred is the height predetermined with the cloned/new objects or is it adjustable with the "F4" key in FMB?

How about the barrage balloon objects being done at different heights from the existing ones?
At the moment, the lowest one is 600m, the next 1200m, 1800m...
could some be done for other heights,eg: 900m, 1500m, or whatever...??

when I make the clone in static.ini....I add the lines to setit above the ground....in this case simply experimenting with a height of 2 metres......so we must make each one with an exact job in mind to get the height just right......of course we can make as many different ones as we like....
I shoudn't think that the F4 key would apply in this case...

so far I haven't looked at any sfs files relating to the 'stationary objects'........these are from the 'objects' menu

It would be nice to have AA elevated for the towers (and the towers would need to have some modification too) so we could have flak towers. I don't think artillery or stationary objects can be elevated, or can they?

Right now people are probably pretty useful. Too bad whatever controls the smoke hasn't been seen yet. Witht he exact heights required they are a little less useful.
AAA designed to fit atop particular bunkers would be cool.
Buildings...
It might be useful to look at some buildings to see is adding a story by stacking would be useful.

You know all those krasnador (whatever it is) objects in map editing mode that are NOT in the FMB? There are flate ground plates in something like 60 shapes and sizes with city textures on them.
We need to make some with sand and some sort of green textures for a few of the shapes.
The map_c.tga is limited to 50m pixels, these flat plates ARE NOT. We can overlap them and build some pretty damn convincing shoreline details.
