Sound mod Problems. - godverdoom - 06.02.2008
First things first. I had the 3 different sound mods tried our on my il2, for some reason the B-25, all carrier planes, P36, P47 and the P51 do not have sounds in the game with the 9.3 version. With version 9.0, I have problems with some bombers who do not have sound, but I like the 9.3 the most.
I am not the only one with this problem. Does anyone knows how to fix this?
Is it a script error? Or has it something to do with the fact I had have the sound_mod.exe instead of the rar. extension???
Every bit of help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. It has something to do with the sound not being loud enough. I know where the files are to adjust this. I just have no idea what settings need to be adjusted. Maybe someone can explain what needs to be adjusted.

theres a new version of the soundmod in works called "SFX"

imho sooner or later the sound will be perfect, since theres no official help everybody whos goal it is to upgrade some part of the game will have to learn it while working...
If you simply want to adjust the MG-131 volume for example:
open
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\SOUNDMOD\presets\sounds\weapon.MGunMG131s.prs
adjust
[spl]
100
to a higher value
People often have problems with values above 100, 130 works for me though.
A better but more complicated solution is to open the wav file itself in SoundForge for example and adjust the volume there, until you reach peak level otherwise you get a overdriven sound.

Hey vpmedia....thanks for that tip. I have another question though. I noticed that in the presets/sounds folders all of the files. Could you tell me what setting would be used to make the flyby view of the plane louder? Also in the F6F3 the engine now sounds fine except when it gets above a certain RPM. What would cause that. Hopefully I will be able to learn some of this stuff and help other people out.
