Hawker Hurricane cockpit textures by Avala - Guest - 11.02.2008

The work is almost finished, so I assume its time to show it. It is the Hawker Hurricane cockpit textures redone, in entirety, till single bolt and screw.

Something that can come handy for Malta or Clockwatcher's and Boozes BoB map. I guaranty its historic accuracy in limits of its poor 3D model, of course.

Now, what,s left is fine tuning, and I must decide whether to get some of the files out or shrink it.

I am amazed how much original texturer done with so small textures that was in original (256X256px).

Big thanks to JG52Batz for excellent pictures of real Hurricane's cockpit, which I used as very good references. Without those pics cockpit would look much poorer.

And to fly_zo for primary flight tests.

My apologies for some things that I didn't do, and my excuse was work on this cockpit textures (lowfighter for one, for that tree texture)

What I learned during this work and collecting material that in simulation we have one cockpit for two types and several variants of Hurricane, plus Finland version. So it is actually a mix of all of the cockpits MKI and MkII, but serves its purpose. The old one was in majority Sea Hurricane.

Here are some screenshots for now just to see overall looks and to have some idea. Its pics of mostly non so detailed areas for now, later I will post some more detailed work, like instrument panel is. Enjoy.

Incredible. My god, all ppl against modding should come here to see that... Avala, you and the other modders are doing a great work with this sim.

Thank you.

It's true.. There are gods out there!
Great work mate.. Can't wait to see the finished item..

Avala! Magnificent work! Indeed to echo what has been said above....I'd like to see how many "anti-modders" sheepishly come in and download such works as these. Too bad we won't see any "true confessions of an anti-modder"
