Toggle Seat option gone! - saunders1953 - 17.02.2008
Hi,
Has anyone suffered the loss of the seat raising option using these mods? I've noticed that once in a while it will be working and then it won't (when I was patched to 4.08/modded). I assumed it had something to do with messing with these mods, but who knows? Yesterday I finished a complete comp system upgrade, patched to 4.09b, and systematically reinstalled a gob of mods using the new wrapper sytem (BTW, all mods were installed smoothly and are running fantastic!--thank you Qtim, Mr. Jolly, and all other modders too numerous to mention
),
but once again the Toggle Seat thing doesn't work. I do have some reticle mods that involve modding the cockpit (USN and Zero mods by catahoulak), could that be it? Or is it something else? BTW, I have mapped the Toggle Seat to various keys/joystick buttons, and still no joy. The game User file shows "cockpitup" mapped to where i last set the controls, so I don't know where to look next.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Did you open your canopy ?

With the 6DOF mod enabled, the toggle gunsight function still works in a way.
Though the gunsight can't be toggled anymore, it still has the same effect as without 6DOF,
namely when 'viewing the gunsight', in gunsight mode, you can't raise the seat.
Try pressing 'toggle gunsight once more and then try to raise the seat. That was
my problem until someone mentioned this fix.
That is if you have the 6DOF mod. :o

Yup! Canopy open and engine on. I also made sure I wasn't in gunsight mode.
I also just tested the reticles mods by turning them off. Still no joy. Can't figure it out.

Klemm, I don't have the 6 DOF mod installed. But I wonder if it has something to do with a setting in TrackIR just the same? I just reinstalled that, of course, so maybe I messed with the profile in some way.

No problems here. Is it possible that, after patching up to 4.09, your key assignments were set to default? Have you changed the name of your pilot?

saunders, i don't think it has to do with the TIR software. After all its an ingame setting.
Besides i never had any real problems at all with the mods i installed, apart from some keysetting issues as already mentioned.
So, sorry, i cannot really help you but to give you the mostly useless advice to reinstall everything.
It
could help.

No fockin' way, Klemm! It took me most of my free time this weekend to get everything set, and everything else works just great, so this is it for a while. Thinking about this though, I had never had it work that I can recall. Even though I fly mostly PTO, and I think I tried it when it first came out, it didn't work, and I didn't really care that much--I can crash land on a carrieir with the best of them!
It was only a couple of weeks ago that it worked for the first time, and still can't figure out what I did to make it work! But it was a neat option, and of course worked really good for carrier landings. Oh well.
Razor, I mapped and re-mapped the controls and doubled check the Users file to make sure it hadn't defaulted. I have so many controls mapped to the stick, throttle, and pedals that if it did go to default, I'd notice in a second.
Thanks anyway guys!

Which aircraft are you trying this in?
- saunders1953 - 18.02.2008
F4F-3 and -4, F4U-1. I can't recall if it used to work in A6M2-21, but if it did, it doesn't now.

Fixed! I tweaked different mods like fabianfreds and the gui thing to different settings etc., decided to reboot for the hell of it, and the gremlins left upon rentry. :?
