Saving a mission - Deacon352nd - 07.03.2008
Is it possible through some type of mod to save a long mission at some point along the way and then at a later time, start it back up with all planes and objects in pretty much the same position they were when the game was paused and saved?
I know that this was possible in CFS1 and allowed us to fly a bombing mission to Germany from England and then return all the while saving it at least once so that the 8 hour mission could be flown in real time but divided up into two or three sessions.

The Holy Grail. I hope it can be done.

You mean to tell me that it's been almost a week and nobody desires this or has any ideas on how it could be done?
Has anyone tried it and found that it was impossible? As impossible as Oleg saying that maps couldn't be changed, added to or made completely from scratch?
If nobody desires this, I'll let the idea die but the possiblilities for such a mod are mind boggling.

If you can pause a mission now within a single person campaign, there must be some way to save that mission at that point and pick it up again, shouldn't there be? Then what about applying that concept to a coop?

What information is saved in the *.ntrk files?
Could this information be extracted and used with the original mission files to create an updated set of mission files?
