Thats about it.
Wondering if anyone thinks it is doable ,or is looking into it ,or is working on this possibility.
Sure would be a great addon for both the Med and North African Theaters of Operation.

Agreed, Isnt there a filter on the side of the Lerche?

You bet Phas3e. Looked at the Lerch (Well named) for the very first time, and it has one.
In fact it is of the same operating wire operated front closeure system. so...
I'll bet it that with a little work by you modders in the know, we could have one.
Not sure if the size is a problem, but it is very much the same as the filters on the F, and G, series 109's.
Is there anyone that could perhaps just take a look and see if it's doable :wink: ?

Definatly a must - even added as a seperated model ie; 109 F4 - Trop (or what have you - cant remember what model F were refered to as that... I forget, were more models given the 'Trop' designation?)
Oh and as another side note, just out of curiosity; has anyone read the book "Grey Eagles" (also printed as Grau Eaglen?)? its from the 70's by a German author, about a group of ex-luftwaffe aces who fix up and arm a group of 109-G's (with trop filters & galland hoods) and take on the USAAF, and a group of ex fighter pilots (most of whom are aces) lead by a guy who shot down two of the lead german characters in the closing stages of the war. in arizona - in a Final Shootout kinda thing... Sorry its a bit off topic but this request just reminded me of this excelent book (one of my utmost favorites) and just wanted to know who else had seen it, and recommend it

Written by a Canadian author.
The Chino Airshow was never the same for me after reading that book.
Back on topic, I really hope someone looks into this.
It's kind of silly flying around Tobruk,Gassala,and Southern Italy without one.Judging from some of the great mods that have been developed by you guys this doesn't seem like a huge undertaking.

I wonder why this request is so overlooked.
At present we have new cockpit combinations, for the 109, repainted cockpits for the 109, mix and match tail assemblies for the 109, but when it comes to the Med and African theatres we have these birds flying around with no manditory sand filters. Without them that planes engine got into real trouble.The same for the Spits however, we have sand filters for the Spits dont we :wink:

I have the lerche files on my other PC, they dont get extracted automaticly so not everybody has them. If i find out what file it is il take a look after the Spitfire XIV is done

Mate read it about 6 times, even use the Emblem on my desert skin when flying. Also "The Fighters" by Colin Willock is an excellent read.
