AVENGER "COG" ??? - RAF_Chalky - 22.03.2008

Hi gents,

I have just begun to fly with your v 4.08m 'MODS' , and I must say it's good fun. Smile Allowing for the particular cockpit/aircraft mismatch.

Now comes my gripe... Are you quite sure the COG is correct with regards the Avenger? I'm sure it's not my flying   It seems too far aft? Causing the aircraft to roll and become a little unstable.

Just one more problem for me (just me)? I'm sat in the cockpit of the TBF -1C 1943 and over the nose I have what appears to be a part of the fuselage that obscures the forward view.

There ya go... Still having fun trying out the other flyable planes Smile Me -323!!! Confusedhock:

Hope someone will shed light on my questions/queries...

Cheers

about the avenger, it was not a finished model, thats why it handles a little strange. I had that gripe too about 5 months ago :!:

A bunch of right aileron trim at slow speeds along with some nose down trim when you have flaps deployed and you'll begin to lover her. She's really a sweet heart around the boat once you figure out the trim.

But I do think she is in dire need of a new rear gunner...

Yea, I love her but like a mother-in-law, to me, she's unpredictable & downright scary at times.

Thanks for your replies gents. :Smile)

I'm pleased to learn that it's not my poor flying.....  I have been using a boot full of right rudder, and only 70/80% power on take-off. Seems to do the trick! Trying to keep the ball centered on the T/S is still a tad tricky though.

I'll be getting more airtime in her, and show my squdron mates she's a real sweetie. Tongue

Do any of you chaps have this, or is it only me?

Much appreciated.

There's just a small piece that I can see, which I find useful while lining up my approach to the boat. I can't say that I notice it otherwise.

Hi Razor,

This is what I see from the cockpit of the TBF-1C. I have the (AVENGER MOD PACK) Btw
Are you getting the same view?

OMG!! LOL. That's some bit of metal ya got there fella! Sorry, but that is definitely NOT what I'm seeing. You need to uninstall and try again. There is definitely something wrong. This is what I am seeing:

Yeah.... Confusedhock: I thought how the hell can I fly with that stuck in front of me  lol Thank God, it's ONLY on the TBF-1C

Thanks again Razor Smile

Too true

I see we both fly in knots  I sometimes use mph (Spit) and so on, although the Hurricane's ASI is kts, but must admit that I fly less and less German aircraft.
