isnt it is the same thing as la7 but with metal skin? :?

Considering it didnt see action in WWII, it would go nicely with the up and coming Korean map, and fly nicely with Ranwers MiG-15

All-metal construction, a new laminar flow wing, a pressurized cockpit, increased fuel capacity and 4x23mm guns.

Its very similiar to the La7, as stated above it was all metal construction so the airframe was lighter than an La7, but it had massively increased range (almost double), Laminar flow wing, faster, slightly lower climb rate, higher wing loading, very similiar power to weight ratio but the most interesting feature (for me) would be the 4 x 23mm NS23 Cannon armament, that would deliver a real killer punch.
Below are some wiipedia links for the above mentioned

This would make a very nice addition to the Korea campaign, for that matter a Skyradier and P61 would go down well :-)

La-11, the long-range derivative of La-9 would be easy to make too - one less cannon, much more fuel. This is actually the variant that fought in Korea.

Yes, a laminair Airfoil. Same principle as the Mustang. From above it almost looks like a mustang with a radial in front.

huh, that would be an interesting plane to have!

I see similarities with the La-7 and I-185.
I actually saw a La-9 in Romania. Very pretty plane. Unfortunately it's outdoors, exposed to the elements...

why wont they make the plane back to airworthy condition?
