Problem with chat text - aphill - 04.04.2008

Hi All,
With mods installed and connecting to AAA sever there is no server or chat text scrolling accross the top left of the screen. When I connect to the AAA server through hyperlobby with the unmodded game the chat text shows up.
Anybody seen this before and maybe know how to fix it?
