Combining buildings.txt - still having issues - canonuk - 10.04.2008

Ok, I'm getting annoyed now...lol
Having managed to use act.jar to create working actors.static files from Autopop generated Buildings files, I'm really having trouble combining two inBuildings.txt files into one.

I'm not changing any other file (aside from renaming them to in*.txt. I'm simply copying and pasting the entries from one buildings file beneath the final entry of another, renaming the file to inBuildings.txt and then running 'Create'. The error message always appears during the 'Reading Buildings' bit, so I know the problem has something to do with how I'm combining the files.

The numbers at the beginning of each entry don't matter, right? I can have two entries beginning with 10015_bld House etc, right? e.g.

10015_bld House$Factory_03 1 158662.20 41767.07 225.00
10015_bld Plate$ConcreteTaxi 1 17714.15 118060.44 319.95

Some help would be greatly appreciated

Joe

There's no problem with entries having the same index.
When you paste, in the final inbuildings.txt there should be only one [Buildings] line at the start of the file.
Next but I'm not sure it matters, my memory is hazy, delete all blank lines at the end of the final inbuildings file.
Otherwise I have no idea...

Perfect - it was a couple of blank spaces at the bottom. Works perfectly now.

Many thanks, lowfighter Smile

Good you fixed it, and my memory is now refreshed too!

Keep solving the problems.
I'm learning a lot from these threads. Smile
