Confusedhock: Big Grin

Its nice to see Riff has a sense of humor, anyway i 'volunteered ' to moderate this little section as i build and fly large model aircraft and am generally a little obsessed, my current project is a hurricane MkIIc to 1/6th scale (yes thats 7foot/2meter wingspan) and all the details of which can be found on the nippers crew site (my native home, links at the end) but, if anyone has any questions or models of there own then please post away!

OK, here goes:

Edit: not quite as big as yours carosel43
and it does not fly but it was fun to make.

I hope this forum takes off, we had a good one going at the zoo.

Forager i like your stuka, i also have many plastic kits and they are great fun to make, the flying ones get very complicated, please read the thread on the nippers crew forum as it details most of the construction

- GentleKiller - 14.04.2008

what size of an engine will it use? and how much does it weigh?

- carosel43 - 14.04.2008

The engine is a laser 120, thats a 20cc four stroke engine to everyone not into model planes. the engine runs on a mixture of oil, methanol and nitromethane and will turn a 15inch propellor at about 8000 Rpm. as for the weight its going to end up about 12Lbs i hope, i have forgotten what that is in kilo's, its currently about 9Lbs but it needs finnishing and the batteries added

i hope that your model works

- ArcticViper - 14.04.2008

In due time, it will.

I've heard master Carosel talk about it for along time, and from what I've heard I think it's a superiorly crafted model and will fly very well Smile

Onwards and upwards lads!

- carosel43 - 15.04.2008

i hope it flys propperly to, my main worry was weight as the retracts and flaps are an addition i have made but so far the weight seems under control, if i can keep it under 12lbs then it will be fine, i know these fly well at 14lbs so 12 can only improve the situation

- HH_Cipher - 15.04.2008

My La-7 is only still work in progress (sorry for the blurry picture)

Its undercoated black and i need to add some thin layers of grey to it.

heh, i think its safe to say that i am the closest thing he has to a spouse!
if you think thats bad you should see his bedroom! Confusedhock: (omg! this is sounding worse by the
second!)
unfortunately i havent got any rc models currently other than an aerobird and x twins! since i now have a 5ch futaba transmitter (& receiver soon) off carosel, il soon be able to make some pile of something that may be in the shape of a zero! (you never know it may fly!)

- carosel43 - 15.04.2008

Ulrich, sadly rocketbat is correct, i am currently single and living at home (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!) but yea, my mum is always moaning about the dust and mess. anyways there are some very nice plastic kits you guys have, i look forward to seeing the La7 in all its glory and oxon_major_mans model (i must confess i know not what it is, i think its a mirage?) is a very fine effort. i am also a little shocked by the response this subject is generating, i was not expecting it to be this popular!
