Possible to create a 3D percussion wave when plane crashes? - Spidermonkey - 18.04.2008

Just a progression from the thread where I asked for the possibility of deleting the 2d grey flat ring, when a plane or bomb explodes.

Would it be possible to actually have a 3D percussion wave, or at least an explosion like BoBII: Wings of Victory. You know something that actually looks good!

Cheers, SM

When i asked for a quick how-to in that other thread i did it because i own Theatre of War (the WWII RTS game based off Il-2 engine) and it's explosions look more realistic to my eye. I was contemplating of importing them from one to the other but really am not knowledgeable enough about the Il-2 files structure. I could probably figure it out by myself, given some free time, but i believe re-inventing the wheel every time one wants to drive a car is not the most efficient way to do things. So if someone has actually played with these files i would really appreciate them to share their knowledge.

(also a modified sfs extractor that works with ToW files too would be amazing - then we could export all the models and textures (which, by the way, look stunningly good!) from it and use them in Il-2...)
