WW I for IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 - =RAF=darky1 - 24.04.2008
Obviously Forgotten Battles is a World War II simulation that does not contain World War 1 airplanes.
The means of overcoming this, and the heart of the Mission is the prodigious use of WW1 skins,
when applied to several airplanes already contained within IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 check out this fantastic site if you have not already

If the modders could produce even two suitable NEW opposing aircraft (in these great NEW aircraft slots)from WW1 I bet they would greatly increase their fanbase.Possible?I know these planes would be 'from scratch' and so a lot harder to make ?

I have just came from an old game
Fighter Squadron Screamin Demons over Europe where all kinds of modding was promoted and in its infantsy they see a window for ww1.
If you coax and nurture this enthusiasm it WILL grow
Check this for a windows 98 game pushed out not complete because the owners wanted some pay back.
It had 4 USA planes 3 UK and 3 German to start, but now it has about 400 aircraft through modding

I would love to see a WWI eliment added to this game (perhaps even one day a varient of OFF [Over Flanders Fields]) but the Mod-Gods have their hands full as it is, even getting some of the much needed WWII planes in
I cannot wait for Knights of the Sky however... Infact, thanks to AAA, I'm give more of a damn about KOTS then SoW:BoB...

yes and i think that it is one of the reasons why the BOB has been delayed once more

Hehehe infact, I would be happy as larry with just my modded version of Il2, and a copy of Knights of the Sky - whilst waiting a further 2 years for SOW lol
