FW 190 A4 with blown Canopy - FW 190 A8 - 26.04.2008
Hello!
I would like to build some scenarios of the last phase of the war. At this time, You could find nearly any combinations of equipment. So i would like to create a FW 190 A4 with a blown canopy. But ever, when i change the necessary parts, the converted plane doesn't work. I only get a picture with a sky with trees in middle.
Is anybody here, who can help me or, who has a solution?
Thanks in advance.
Frank

Hi,
If the error is happening in the FMB when you press fly, try switching views......hope it's this simple but sorry if this doesn't help

Same thing happens if you are messing up the existing FW190 Mods. Like the REVI mod that had a file naming incorrect.

Sounds like you don't have the proper .tgas and .mat files in your cockpit directory (you're modding the cockpit, right?) If your cockpit doesn't work you won't be able to control your plane, no matter what the view...
If you're swapping parts from another cockpit, try dumping the .tga and .mat files from that cockpit into your modded one. It's sloppy but it's worked for me.

Fw190A4 would not have ever seen a blown canopy. Keep in mind that the Fw190 series evolved and once a change was made in production, the existing models were retro fitted with the new equipment, or phsed out completely. Fw190A4's were brought up to A5 standards..becoming A5's and so on

I know that, but this is not, what i mean. I mean for example a left over FW 190 A4, which became fitted with a blown canopy in the last phase of the war.
I was already successful with the changing of the canopy of the FW 190 A6 and FW 190 A5, but it seems that in the case of the FW 190 A4 are other problems. May be, it's about the shorter fuselage, so that the parts of the cockpit hav other positions.
Has anybody an idea?
Thank You in advance again.

I Know what you mean.. but it would not have happened... The attrition on the A4 would have been extreme..and as the series evolved they would have problems getting parts particularly for the engine. An Fw190A4 that was serviceable would have been used until upgraded or lost..or written off.
