How to Modify Sight Post? -
poncho - 02.05.2008
Could anyone tell me what file would have to be modified to get rid of the sighting post on the cowl in cockpit view?

shifted to discussions, as not a current WIP.

The arrow points to the feature I want to remove. What is the file that contains the mesh for this? This is a P47-D10.

i think that it is just a little stick that is made for when the reflector sight is gone you can still aim for the enemy
so i think that i can be changed but it will not be historical

You are correct Gentle.
What I am trying to do is replace the old post which doesn't line up with anything, with one with correct sight lines. The bead in the center of the sight belongs to the replacement.

Perhaps those guru's modding all the P-47 pits could do it?

The P47 cockpit modders are a fairly small group and I am fairly confident that they don't know.
The mesh that codes this is not in the cockpit folder, which I am familiar with. It is somewhere in the Plane folder. I was hoping that one of the external plane modellers would know. I can figure it out myself but that is time consuming.
