what about a droop snoot? - shakthamac - 07.05.2008

i was thinking about forgotten planes earlier this evening and this bird wasnt the first i thought of, but i figured it might be one of the easier mods. there were several different versions, one of which looks like we could use a resized B-17F nose on it.

for those who dont know, there were certain US fighter/bomber groups during the war who flew this plane. One droop snoot, carrying a bombardier, would lead a formation of bomb laden p38s and level bomb a target. There were a couple of these groups in the MTO IIRC.

Yeah - Made a model of this a few years ago. Nice wee planes these. Wouldnt mind to see one.
