installing mod wrapper acinstaller confused - specter - 23.05.2008

installed mod activator v5 followed by english language fix +wrapper+ac installer on il46 v-08m would not start up deleted all including game .reinstalled game +patch + mod activator +language fix + game works (is wrapper next or ac installer )or what am i missing/doing wrong .the more i read the more i get confused (buttons, mod files, file list etc) where are these things located and what do they look like .i normally dont go into the program files so can you keep explanations simple not very computer smart
these may all ready be answered here somewhere but cant find them
