Install Procedures Confusion - PapaG39 - 31.05.2008

Howdy!

I will not dwell on past attempts to make these mods work...Surfice to say that am once again at:

New install of my DVD 1946 cd.. Played & then patched to 4.08m...Played & it works just dandy on my newly reformatted/install of XPro & only SP 2 & all updates. My ATI X1900XT drivers are up to date & graphs are fine.

I have printed out copies of **Three** separate "How To" install the mods info

1) There is a MOD Install process for Beginners-Updated.
2) Another starts with "PRIMARY MOD = MOD ACTIVATOR = PRIMARY MOD
3) ENG SOUND MOD / SFX (& MOD ACTIVATOR)

I have downloaded into a folder on my desktop all of the MODs listed on these three separate "How to's"

What I need to know (computer files challenged) is: Which one of these mods to I do first?
Then which one second etc...

Some of these are just files...exactly where do I copy and paste them..Where and in what folders are they suppose to show up?

Expecially that English language fix file.... I can't get past that...

Sounds: Do I install all three sounds files and then pick the one I want or just one sounds files only?

On my own I will never get them in the proper sequence if reinstalled from now till Christmas...

Thanks...I ain't moving until I hear from you...lol..

Well the first thing I'd do if I were you is to install the 4.09 beta patch- many mods, especially maps, require that you have this installed. If you have enough harddrive space, copy your original install as a backup and mod the copy. Start with the 4.09 beta patch, then the soundmod itself, then the wrapper.
After that all you have to do to enable most mods is to unzip them to the "mods" folder that will be in you main game folder after you install the wrapper.
If you run into any problems, such as your text appearing in Russian, do a search of the threads here at AAA for a fix. There is so much here, it's impossible to second guess everything else you might need.

I am checking into right now.. It looks like it may well help things along.

I have had so much trouble that this time I'm not moving until I have a good working plan.
