Flak settings. - benson - 24.06.2008

I have been running some level bombing tests and it seems to me that with the mission condition sttings at 'blind', the anti aircraft artillery doesn't open fire. Now if that's correct it seems such a shame that the great new cloud mods available here can't be used in bombing missions, mods that add so much realism and spectacle. Anyway, to get to my point I was wondering if it's possible to open a file and tweak it a little so that they will shoot with the settings on'blind'.

Sort of. In the Artillery section choose an AAA gun and place it. Then open the 'Properties' tab. At the bottom you will see a box marked "Hold Fire(m)". In that box you can set how many meters away an enemy target must be before opening fire. This is useful in surprise attacks as it simulates the late arrival of gun crews to their weapons. You can set values form 1 meter to 100,000 meters. At 1 meter they won't even shoot at a plane only 10 meters off the ground. This includes small caliber AAA.

Hope this helps.
