new maps and more architecture styles - lowfighter - 27.06.2008

I think it would be nice if skinners can produce a set of buildings represented different dominant architecture styles to represent different regions. For example there are in il2 a small number of buildings having typical German appearance but I think they are too few. Same for Russian...The "Mediteranean style" is absent alltogether...France, England, Belgium...
I think it's important in the context of the new maps because using the same buildings everywhere the new maps lose the local flavour...
One first step would be to identify the styles to be skinned but I don't have the knowledge
What do you think?

Yeah, variety is always good. And skinning existing buildings could be the easiest remedy. But also, having the possibility to import new models could be used for buildings too.

Or the models from ToW which are already in correct .nsh format, they just need someone to figure out how to port them from one game to the other.

But we really do need a greater variety of buildings to cover all new maps...

Let's hope in time there'll be some interest in doing this one way or another. Maybe this thread can discuss what kind of styles and how to be represented. Any gentlemen with knowledge in architecture?
Radoye, I think having new 3d models, that would be nice especially for representing historical big buildings, monuments etc
