skins in multiplayer - Trash Can Man - 29.06.2008
My friend and I each made a custom skin. When we play in multiplayer, all we see are default skins. how do we see customs skins?

The host must have the skin download toggle on mate
- Trash Can Man - 29.06.2008

Are the skins 1 mb each file if not you will need to copy it and paste it over another one then just save it as another name, then drop it in the game skins folder ...done

It takes up to 30 minutes for the clients to download the skins from eachother sometimes.
If you're running it on a server that only has the 2 of you and you're on LAN for instance, I've seen it take 15 minutes, it's a bit random in my experience but patience is the cure for it.
The 1 mb is irrelevant, he is talking about them not being able to see eachother's skin. Just keep flying, and eventually they will appear.

Artic having the skins saved at 1 mb each is not irrelevant. If you take the time to read his post he stated that him and his friend MADE each of the skins....I know quite a few newer skinners that in the beginning when they made their own skins that they put so much detail and work into them that when they saved them they were larger then 3 MB. and not saved in 8 bit depth either. So please do not dismiss anyone's post as if it doesn't matter. There could be numerous things wrong and not just what he has described in his short brief post.

Skins must be saved in the correct format and the correct bit rate, otherwise they will not be usable by the sim.
The way my squadron solved the long loading time issue was for me to make the skins, then put them into a skin pack, ZIP it and make it available for download on one of the free file hosting sites. Everyone would download the ZIP and unzip the skins to the correct plane folder. This way ensured that everyone had the skins and there was no long wait for skin swapping across the server.
