Sound Mod question - Double_Ugly - 04.07.2008

Hello all - I'm new to the MOD version so this maybe a dumb question: I have installed the MOD version 4.09bm, MOD Activator and wrapper.exe and installed several new A/C plus some other mods like Flushy's clouds, etc. I did not installed the Ssound Mod.

I wanted to try the new Tempest Engine sounds and installed but in-game I do not get the new sound just the old sound. I do see the new sounds wav files in the Files folder under Samples and also have the motor sound Sabre .prs file under the Presets folder.

My question is do I need to install the Sound Mod? In the instructions I thought I just needed the MOD Activator?

I'm pretty sure you have to install sound mod to get the Presets and Samples folder where you go to change sounds in the first place....So if you're starting to modify your in-game sounds, then yes, you most likely need soundmod.

Thanks mate! Unfortunately I have an issue and need HELp!

I went ahead and installed the Eng Sound Mod V. 9.0 and lost all my new A/C that I added (the ones in their own slots) and I have a Russian Language splash screen Note the previous Mod Screen? I used Mr. Jolly;s New Sound Eliminator thinking this was the solution but I still have the Russian language splash screen but the Sound Mod v.9.0 is removed.

I'm sure I should not have said YES to some of the files I was asked to overwrite. So any ideas what I need to do? I assume I neeed to reinstall the new A/C with the slots, Flushy'sClouds etc. ? And I guess use the newest version of the Sound Mod?

Here is what I did from a few days ago:

I installed the MOD Activator 5.2 IL2 4.08, 4.09 MODb1m.exe, then the IL2 Mod Switcher 4.08 to 4.09, the wrapper.exe and AC Installer V2.2 for the new A/C and then started adding mods like new clouds etc. I will reinstall the wrapper and AC Installer and then see if thsi removes the Russian language spleash screen.

Please let me know if asnyone out there has any better advice - THANKS!

So I reinstalled the MOD Activator 5.2 IL2 4.08 and then 4.09 MODb1m.exe; launched the game and I got the Modded splash screen back (yeah) but I have that 60% loading error where the game crashes to my desktop.

I have read there is a fix - can someone point that out to me? Or should I just installed the new engine sound SFX?
