An Idea: The Input screen. Assign stick settings to Planes - FoolTrottel - 10.07.2008
An idea to change IL2's Input screen:
To encorporate IL2-Sticks/JoyControl functionalities into IL2.
So one can change all sensitivity settings in-game.
(Even wilder: Assign a set of sensitivities to a specific aircraft... though I doubt very much whether that would be technically possible.)
Such a change would mean a redesign of the Input screen.
As not only Yaw, Pitch and Roll should be shown, but all HOTAS assigned axis' ... and some other stuff... Save settings, Load settings (Profiles) ... Pilot selection ...
Anyone?
(Don't suggest I do it myself, I'm done and ready with IL2-Sticks, and have no clue on how this modding works, and have no desire whatsoever to get actively into it... 8) Also, not sure if it would add enough functionality to make it worth the while...)

Yes FT this is a great idea... Too bad ORR is now closed because there were dozens of good ideas there.. I know that I have personally asked for this, the default skins, skinnable objects... editable splash screens as well...
It would be great if just like the sim will select the last skin you used for a specific plane it would remember the last profile you used. If there were only say.. 5 storable stick profiles... and you could assign one to a plane, like a skin, that could work.. if you could incorporate the stick profile to work on the fly. As it is now with IL2 sticks etc.. you still have to reboot the sim for it to take...
You know come to think of it... if one could link a specific plane to specific profiles stored in the users folder... because you know each pilot can have a separate stick & controls profile, so if the users folder profiles and the RTS Joystick sections of the conf. file could be somehow linked , and multiple RTS JOYSTICK settings assigned to each profile in the users folder.
Note the RTS section highlighted in yellow on the conf file... and the sections in the users file with the with the control settings, and the last planes & loadouts used at the end of the Users file.. If the RTS section of the conf file could
A)be split up into multiple complete individual sections, say hypothetically 3-5 and then
B)have a way for one of those RTS settings to be assigned to an individual plane, and loaded when the sinm launches.. sort of the same way that the last skin you used loads or the last loadout.. I cant tell you how many times i fragged preflight 101 and failed to check my loadout before getting on the runway...... am I making sense here?
BTW I deleted a lot of the two files and only highlighted the parts that pretain to what I am talking about...

Also remember if you change any key settings for that user you have to undo the READ ONLY setting or else the changes will not be there when you reboot the sim, and also to make sure te brake settings are there.. the AXE_X =JD2=brakes or Y will correspond to your L or R toe brakes on your pedals. )
