Fix P-40E and M 3D models - beercamel - 13.07.2008

Just a request..

Does anybody have the time and the skill to fix the P-40E and M 3D models... when compared to accurate profile drawings these aircraft are pretty far off... primarily around the tail.. not to mention the wingtips...

Thanks

And the butterfly wings. The dihedral is twice the angle of the real life aircraft. Cry

Yes, sorely needed. Happily I know someone who has plans to do a full rework of them & do the E, F, K, M & N models...eventually Smile

That's big news....so you tell us that sometime in the future in the AAA we are going to download all these P-40s ?

+1

Thanks for the news Willy, it is damned good news to know that someone will be taking the time and effort to rework this bird.

Sure, I could do that, it's similar to my Spitefu.

I need to learn how to do models for this game...

I can already do the actual modeling part, but when it comes to rigging/animating/texture mapping I'm either clueless or have difficulty.

Somehow I forgot to include the P-40D & P-40L in the list above...must be getting old Smile

This hadn't crossed my mind. Mostly as I see the priorities like this:

1. Fixing present content that really needs fixing.

2. Adding historically important missing content.

So for me the P-40Q does not fit into either category. Also it would require a fair amount of extra work (time) to represent properly. All that for 3 prototypes that never saw action could probably amount to "fun & games" Smile

But who knows...an initial look shows much in common with the earlier types, of P-40 that is...can't quite make out the Spitefu....or even a Kungfu for that matter, maybe it's the clipped wings and the bubble helmet...or canopy, I should say

Very great news!!!!!!!!! I love the P-40!!!! Infact, the air intake of the P-40E and M is too big.. And I'd love to see a P-40 with Merlin Engine! Superfast P-40!! Big Grin Thank You!!!!

Can we have one that transforms into a Kung Fu master so we can really have more fun!!
