Possible to delete default fuselage roundel and leave codes? - No1_Charlie - 25.07.2008

Also the same for the wing roundels. I want to use some skins with roundels and just use the default codes.

What files would need to be accessed for this?

Thanks for any help here. Smile

Well i donno,i made a RAF skin for the Tempest with only the roundels and when i put it ingame and put RAF markings the skin roundels showed as they were and the code from the markins showed up here is a pic(but for some reason it doesn't work ith the german skins for the german planes)

hi Suicider, Im a little confused to your explanation. Do you mean you managed to get rid of the default roundels on wings and fuselage and just use the codes with a skin you made?

If so, how?

Charlie, the simplest way is to simply extract, locate and edit the roundel in question and thus create yourself a mod for it. If not, download and install Mat Manager, and use the options with that to eliminate your markings.

Thanks Magpie, could you explain where I locate the roundels for the Mk1/Vb Spitfire. I am making a Dunkirk mini-campaign for my team and want to get rid of the awful default roundels but keep codes.

I cant expect everyone in the squad to install MatManager so I think this is a good alternative (if I can do it!). Smile

I'll tell you how: download the sfs extractor tool from here, and etract all of the sfs files to a folder of your choosing. then, go into the extracted files, and open the following folders: paintschemes/decals/and then there are all of the files for all of the game markings. if you already know how to make a mod and put it into the MODS folder, then you're good to go. if not, let me know and I'll explain it for you.
HTH! Smile

No m8,some fractions(britan,USA...) in the game when you put the marking on the correct place and dong type a number down, ingame those markings will stay(the markings of the skin) and from the ingame markings only the number will show up =)

That's depending on the plane....eG a P-51 will have the USAAF-Roundels on the skin, an only add the Coes, but a Spit MkV will show th Game-roundels...
