Standardized and Simplified Mod Install for Online play? - RAF74_Buzzsaw - 03.08.2008

Salute All

This community has produced a huge variety of great mods, with everyone being able to install exactly what they want.

Unfortunately, there has been no coordination to standardize the installations. This is not a problem for offline play, but for online, it can mean some headaches.

It would be great if we could put together a simplified, and standardized install for online play.

Something which was combined in a single package, for a single install.

It would not include betas, or the more individualized mods, but just the basics.

Probably there should be two versions. One for 4.08, and one for 4.09.

Is anyone working on this?

Thanks RAF74 Buzzsaw

Actually a more simplified install process is needed across the board, but first I agree Buzzsaw. Something along the lines of the Grey Wolves mod for SH3 or Trigger Maru for SH4 is needed.

A simple one shot install for online play, a super mod pack if you will.

Also many of the individual mods are quite complicated to install, requiring bits and pieces from all over this board, and adding lines of text to files, etc...

Far too difficult. Everything should be packaged in a single installer. One click and bingo, you are done.

I realize that this is not a professional undertaking, but jeeze guys, if you can do all this stuff certainly you can do a proper installer.

Just a suggestion from a very frustrated new mod user.
