Is there a Battle of Britain mod? - GunSlingerAUS - 09.08.2008
Hey guys
First off - hi! About to reinstall IL2 1946 after several years of not playing it, thanks to the work you're doing here. Can't wait!
What I really want to play is a recreation of the BoB, and I've seen that there are some maps in development. As a total novice, can you guys please tell me what I need to download/install, and in what order, to get the best BoB experience in IL2, hopefully with a campaign?
Hope you can help!

I heard Oleg was making one a while back. Might be a hoax though....

Yeah, I heard that too, but it looks like he's determined that console games are a better investment.
So can I assume there's nothing that fits my needs?

There's lots of stuff here, but you may need to do some looking around.
Start with a search for mods installation instructions.

Have deen doing a lot of searching over the last week or two, and have noticed that there are lots of options, with not so clear instructions. Oh well, I'll start with the basic main mod installs, and then work from there. Would be lovely if there was a unified BoB installer though... one day I'm sure it'll happen.

If you want the best BoB experience in Il-2, download Spitfire I v 2.5, then 2.7 (install only
wings files), skinmod, default skin for the hurricane, and finally, in WIP - BETA - Map mods download, take English Channel BETA of canonuk.

Thanks Alien - once I've installed all those, will I need to build my own missions? Or will that work with DGEN?
- Alien_12 - 10.08.2008
Get to campaign section and there are campaigns and skins for spitfire I and instruction, how to add planes to DGen. But you got to delete wing bulges from wings and correct gun placement on the skins. And more skins at Aircraft Skins download section. If you want do download more skins for Hurricane, 109 or Heinkel, go [url=http://flying-legends.net/]>>HERE

you should have a look here, its the 352nd FG, some of the members here are involved within the group. The Cross Channel Map promises to be spectacular

Just a question: why is it that we do not like "that site"?

it's really the other way around ..... as for links goes, AAA doesn't link to sites that distributes mods without guarantee that AAA mods structure is respected along with AAA rules ( no FM/DM/WM changes for stock planes) . So to avoid mods conflict hazard and protect online gamming ( a much is possible) ...no links !
please, do not take this any further
thanks
