DED game after sound mod install - Loony - 20.08.2008

Posted this in another forum and just found this one. Did a fresh install of IL2 added 4.08, played and worked fine. Down loaded and saved eng sound mod 06 also wrapper and AC Installer. Went to install sound mod and got a "some files are currupt please down load again and reinstall" I went ahead and added the wrapper and the AC installer. Went to fly and game will not start clicked desk top , start menu even put in disk and clicked start I get nothing. My question is can I just install new download over currupted sound mod or do I have to uninstall (if so how do I uninstall) also do I have to have 4.09 in the game to allow sound mode to work.
