How to lock FPS - toby23 - 22.08.2008

I suffer from bad screen tearing in IL2.
I'm running a 30inch monitor at 2560x1600 with a slow response time.
I use a TrackIR and I use nhancer to add VSyncing but this doesn't work like it does in FSX or BOB2, perhaps because i'm using OpenGL?

Q. Is there any way i can lock the FPS in IL2 like in FSX or BOB2?

Thanks,
Toby

VSync limits the video card to rendering no more screens per second than the monitor refresh rate, this is the frame limit. Make sure you turn Vsync "on" and triple buffer "off". I know, everyone says to leave triple buffer on, but I find that with my LCD monitor and TrackIR that the triple buffer also induces image tearing while panning. By the way, I run Il2 in OpenGL, I've used a 6800 Ultra, 7950GT and now a 8800GT, all with the same results regarding Vsync and triple buffer.

I do see that you are running a very high screen resolution. You will need a lot of video processing power at that resolution and a slow card(s) will cause pauses, lag, and tearing.

thx for your advice.
i will try deactivating the triple buffering and see if that helps.
