The first pic looks really excellent IMO. Really good texture and very realistic.

The second looks great, but from that perspective the black colors seem a bit too bold to me for the crags and ridges, etc.
Almost as if the texture is out of scale with the rest of the environment.

Just my $.02, FWIW.

that can be adjusted to your tastes by adding nothing or numbers 1 thru 4 at end of lines

Mount3 = land/summer/fsmd_mount1.tga,2

located in each maps "load" file that can be found in VP's MapMod. I will include recommended settings but you can do differently of course.

I'd LOVE to use these for my Mt. Relichu! - Jadehawk - 23.08.2008

The stock textures I have used are well...just don't cut it for me. When can we get these textures? Smile

- Triad773 - 23.08.2008

Really nice first look there Smile

I think they'd add lots to the Alps map under dev, or anything else with mountains.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing these somewhere for download 8)

They will be just the simple tga files. Instructions on how to apply to a map will be included. Anyone can apply them to any map in the MapMod. Map developers are free to use them. Some mention in the credits is all thats requested and of course not for profit use. I will post in a few days.

Those rock faced textures are drop dead gorgeous.

Thank you so very much

- phasmid - 25.08.2008

I forgot to mention

Set LandGeom=3 in the conf file in your program files/Il2 folder.
This will round out the landscape better. I think it looks more real. It will not impact frame rate.

Glad you like them.

OK, sorry for dumb question  but if I simlpy place these correctly in my mapmods folder then they can be my new default mountain texture?

EDIT: Just read your excellent instructions that you included with your download. Thanks for that! Very well explained.

Many thanks for them mount textres Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
Possible to create a couple of more to depict the lower altitude cases: rock mixed with spare grass and spare rock mixed with grass such that we would have a full and coherent highland set of textures?
