How to Fix New Mossie with EZ42 Gunsight for Ta183 - AIRdomination - 30.08.2008
I'm not sure were to put this honestly, but people have been asking and I thought to make a step-by-step guide... So I'm sorry if this is wrong section. Maybe this should be a sticky until the fix comes out?
To make the Mosquito temporarily compatible with the Ta-183 EZ42 gunsight, you must do the following:
If you already have them both installed and incompatible:
1) Download the Askania EZ42 mod for Ta-183
2) Install this mod into an
NEW, empty folder, so this way you can see the mod's individual files.
3) Inside this new
new folder, get into the files folder and you will see 111 different files (minus the 3DO and i18n folders) that are also currently located in your files folder inside your
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946>Files.
4) In your
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946>Files folder find these exact same 111 files that you see in your
new folder and delete them.
NOTE: I understand trying to match and delete 111 files is very time consuming and impossibly frustrating. What I recommend (if this works on your computer) is that you copy the 111 files from the
new folder and paste them back into
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946>Files folder, and
replace. Now all the 111 files are highlighted for you, all you have to do now is just hit delete.
5) Now go into your MODS folder in your IL-2 and create a new folder. Name it anything you want but make sure it will appear first alphabetically in the MODS folder.
6) Inside your
new folder copy those 111 files
PLUS the 3DO and i18n folder and put them into the new folder that you created in your MODS folder in IL-2
DONE! Enjoy
If you have the Mossie but do NOT have the EZ42 mod:
1) Download the Askania EZ42 mod for Ta-183
2) Install this mod into an
NEW, empty folder, so this way you can see the mod's individual files.
3) First thing you will see in your
new folder is a files folder, Filelist-Fixer, and flc.
4) Copy the Filelist-Fixer and the flc files and paste them into the root of your
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
5) Now go into your MODS folder in your IL-2 and create a new folder. Name it anything you want but make sure it will appear first alphabetically in the MODS folder.
6) Inside your
new folder go into the files folder. In there there are 111 files plus the 3DO folder and i18n folder. COPY all of those files PLUS the 2 folders and put them into your newly created folder in your MODS folder in your IL-2.
DONE! enjoy
IMPORTANT:
Make sure that this works before deleting the new folder with the EZ42 files. If it DOES work, then you can delete then new folder you had with the EZ42 stuff. If not... lets see where you went wrong.

Interesting... I've got the EZ42 mod installed the "old fashioned way" as well as the Mossie and everything works just fine!

That is probably becuase you do not use the X-4 missiles, that is where the bug lies. This fix is for Ta-183, not FW-190.
The problem with the 2 mods put together is that it disables guidence of the X-4 missiles to the left and right when installed with the New Mosquito B Mk.XVI

Oh, now i know, but since i never use the missiles, it doesnt really matter as long the mossie and the ta183 fly 8)

Well now you know how to fix it! lol

Thank you very very much AD
will try it now

Problem is this fix will disable the bomb bay doors mod. You can still drop bombs your just can't open the bomb doors when you like.
As for fixing the Fw190-D9 EZ-42 Gunsight mod so it doesn't interfere with Ta183 EZ42 Gunsight mod just do the same as above but make shore it's named alphabetical after the Ta183 EZ42 Gunsight mod ( if that makes any sense )
So it looks some thing like this in your mods folder: 1 Ta183 EZ-421-A1 GunSight, 2 Fw190-D9 EZ-42 GunSight

I have installed the two MODS,and I did what you tell me to do ,but the X-4 still out of control...

works like a charm here. thanks!
well, you can basically choose, if you want the bomb doors or the EZ-42 before starting the game.

Perhaps you did not delete all the 111 files necessary from your files folder. But I'm not sure where it went wrong.

I just copy the 111 files from the new folder, and paste to the files folder, then delete them.I am sure I had deleted them all...

Is your folder that you made in your mods folder first to come alphabetically? Simple way to fix that is to put a 0 in the first of the name.
I honestly cannot think of another problem that can cause this. I'm sorry
I hope someone else can help here.

If you update to the UNIFIED INSTALLER it will fix the problem
- AIRdomination - 03.09.2008
I personally stay away from the unified installer becuase it has things I don't want
