New Flak sounds - chris455 - 15.09.2008
When I was a boy I remember reading a book called "Great American Fighter Pilots of WWII". One passage in the book quoted one of the pilots as saying that German flak "....sounded like someone slamming the door at the end of a long hallway"
I recently purchased "BoB II: Wings of Victory" (not to be confused with SoW: BoB) and I couldn't believe my eyes and ears when I saw how realistically the game portrayed flak. I wanted to duck down in the cockpit of my Hurrucane, it seemed so real !!!!!!
hock:
One of the problems I have with the flak in IL2 is that it is largely
silent.
Recently a mod called SEP was posted, and a modder called (Buffy?) did some great work on the visual aspects of flak, but still no realistic sounds.
Is there no sound file associated with a flak burst in IL2? Can these be modded to sound like " a door being slammed at the end of a long hallway"??? :?:

70 views and not one reply.
Well, I am going to interpret that as meaning that the modders think it's a great idea, but they simply have their hands full creating new mods for us to enjoy!
It never hurts to ask! maybe someday!!

Buffy did some sound work too.

No. Catahoulak, I had not seen this particular post, and it may be the solution to my request.
thanks for taking the time out to respond, much appreciated!

I'll vouch for Buffy's work. It makes the flak quiet scary and even when you are quiet far away, you can still hear it, promoting frantic headchecks and paranoia!
