I was thinking about Fireball's minimap mod.. - Bearcat - 21.09.2008

First off these are the basics of the mod:

Quote:This mod changes the way the mouse buttons work on the in-game minimap, and also the map on the briefing page.

- Click left button zooms in.
- Click right button zooms out.
- Click and hold middle button (normally by pressing the scroll wheel) lets you move the map around.
- Click and hold both left and right buttons lets you reposition the entire map frame on your display. This applies to the in-game minimap only, and is unchanged from the un-modded behavior.

The map worked a lot like the radiator does... one click all the way through the cycle.. but with this mod that was changed so that you can separate the zoom..... basically you took what was once a unidirectional command (One key that runs the entire cycle of the function) and made it bi directional (two keys

I am wondering if perhaps the radiator functions can be modified the same way thereby giving us bi directional radiator controls. As you know now we have to cycle through the entire spectrum.. but if the controls could be made bi directional at least better radiator control could be achieved with 2 buttons... (an axis wold be great... but even bi directional inputs would be an improvement. )

I took a quick look at the code for this and it certainly looks doable. Some others have also asked about this in the past, so I'll try to include it in the next version of the Hotkeys mod in a couple weeks.

Great!

I would love to see the radiator be a "toggle".

Fantastic!!

kool would really like to see this Big Grin

- Redcanuck - 22.09.2008

Thats a great idea!
Maybe it could be adapted to the no-cockpit/wonder-woman view as well Big Grin

- DAVE0009 - 22.09.2008

I agree Redcanuck, it would also be nice to have just 2 views; cockpit and completely no-cockpit-no-gauges view to quickly toggle back and forth just to locate things hard to see using the cockpit pit. Going back and forth quickly between them. The other views are mostly training wheels quickly outgrown.

- Redcanuck - 23.09.2008

Maybe a key assigned to each view so that you could map the ones you want to your joystick

- illegalBeagle - 26.09.2008

This would be very cool. What would be cooler is if each position could be mapped to a separate key or an axis.

I think that this is what you are looking for Bearcat:

Quote:I plan to release a new version of the Hotkeys mod in a couple weeks. It will have some bug fixes and a few new things. It will have the separate Radiator open/close keys, and I should be able to add the external view of friendlies only. The external view while your parachuting is a possibility. I THINK that can be done fairly easily, but I'll have look at that one. And there will be a couple other new things. Smile

As for the separate throttles...I will also take a look at that, but I suspect that will be a little more difficult, if it's possible at all.

This mod should be out "real soon now". The separate radiator controls are finished and working, I'm just finishing up a couple other unrelated things. As usual it's taken me longer than anticipated, but it really is almost done. Smile
