Removing markings from Rudel Ju-87G-2 "Ace" plane - Jabo - 22.09.2008

A question for the mods. Anyway of removing the permanent Hans Rudel markings from the Ju-87G-2 and applying our own squadron markings or just blank for premarked skins?

Can the same be applied to the Nowotny 262, Durand Yak-9, and Kozshedub La-7??? And for any other aircraft that have these? Because its a bit irritating to see the difference in textures, especially in flight, where its visible beyond everything else.

- RAF_Leigh - 22.09.2008

i would say no

because there the ace planes they have their own FM

so hmm

anyway

- AIRdomination - 22.09.2008

But this is only a cosmetic change, is it not?

- RAF_Leigh - 22.09.2008

yer true that

but i would still say no

couldnt you use the normal ju 87?

- AIRdomination - 22.09.2008

Thats like saying "Use the spit Mk. Vb instead of the Mk. I" Tongue

I hope you see what I mean. Its a variant that doesn't exist in other ac. And I'd like to fly it "clean" Tongue And I'm not just talking about the Ju-87 either. I'm talking about all ACES slots that have permanent markings like the ones i mentioned above.

What is the difference between the Ulrich Ju-87G and the regular one?

- grppaperboy - 23.09.2008

the rudel G-2 is the version of the G based on the D-5 with a longer wingspan and was made in more numbers than the G-1 which was based off the D-3 from what i understand

And longer wingspam means better maneuverability.

- Jabo - 23.09.2008

These markings I'd assume, are just tga and mat files harded coded in the ac file. With QTims software, some smart modder could just remove these is what I'm guessing :?

If you can find the name of the TGA. file and mat file then you should be able to change the TGA to your insignia and save it it the same name as the original. Then is should appear on the aircraft. If its part of the skin then its a matter of taking it off the skin. I will try to look at it tonight. See what I can come up with. Can you tell me exactly what you want on the skin any pics could help me. Thanks

I'd like to see the Rudel markings removed, and the ability to add any from the FMB AC customizing window, like any other aircraft. Atleast the ability to use premarked skins. BTW, Thanks for taking a look

Yes! exactly right. At present squadron markings from FMB will not show on "ACE" aircraft.

And even when using to turn markings off, they still appear. I even tried the No markings mod.... didn't work for that either. Sad
